ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

ARDOT cameras maintains a network of cameras to provide situational awareness on State Highways. The cameras are connected to the Dynamic Message Sign and Highway Advisory Radio networks to share real-time information with the public.

The cameras will remind drivers to slow down in work zones. The goal is not to write tickets but to save lives.

Two-way communication

Two-way communication is a great feature for home security. It allows you to talk to your kids and parents in real time, as well as a delivery man or give a verbal order to your pets. Wired cameras and WiFi security cameras with 2-way audio have built-in microphones and speakers. They can use simplex, half-duplex or full-duplex audio transmission mode. Half-duplex transmission is similar to a walkie-talkie, while full-duplex transmission doubles the utilization of bandwidth.

ARDOT cameras has a network of over 200 traffic cameras, 60 dynamic message signs and dozens of permanent Highway Advisory Radios across the state. These live traffic cameras help State Police, Districts and DOT workers make informed decisions.

Night mode

If you’re interested in taking photos at night, you should take advantage of your camera’s Night Mode feature. This will allow you to capture high-quality images in low-light conditions. The feature is available on most phones, and it is easy to use. It can be accessed in the camera app by clicking on the icon that resembles a camera with a moon.

Depending on the device, you can either enable Night Mode by sliding a slider in the Camera app or set it to automatically trigger when the camera detects low light. Once it’s active, you can set the shutter speed and ISO value as well as the camera’s sensitivity. The settings will be applied to both live video and recorded video.

The Night Mode feature uses a combination of HDR and Pixel Binning techniques to create brighter nighttime photos. It takes several photos of the same scene at different exposure lengths, and then uses image processing software to combine them into a single high-quality image. It’s important to keep the phone as steady as possible during this process to prevent blurring. Optical image stabilization is also helpful in this regard. Apple’s A13 chip then analyzes each photo, adjusts color, removes noise, and enhances details to produce the final photo.

When you want to take a shot in Night mode, make sure the camera is oriented correctly and that there are no objects blocking its view. You may need to clean the cameras’ sensors if they are covered with dust or dirt. If you’re not comfortable opening up your camera, you can try using a soft cloth to wipe the sensors clean. But you should be careful, as this could void the camera’s warranty.

While most cameras are capable of capturing high-quality images in low-light conditions, some are better equipped for the task than others. For instance, some models feature infrared LEDs around the lens that emit invisible IR light and provide contrast for the image sensor. However, this can create an unattractive glow in the image.

If you’re taking a photo with the Night Mode feature, it is a good idea to use a tripod. This will help reduce shake while capturing the multiple images needed to create a Night Mode photo. Alternatively, you can hold the camera against something steady, such as a low wall or trash can.
